The use of spreading bars on hammocks it's said to be original from the Ecuador, it has been widely spread and accepted in North America. This kind of hammock is known in the Mayan region as Hamaca Americana (American Hammock).

Cotton thread: it is cooler, it resists direct exposure to sunlight, this type of thread stretches and therefore adapts better to the body, however, it offers a smaller range of colors and these are a bit pale ( compared to nylon). For a longer lifetime it is recommended not to leave it in humid places (for a long period of time) and storing the hammock when it is not going to be used.
